Massive 7.7 Magnitude Earthquake hit Myanmar. Affected Bangkok!
On 28 March 2025, a powerful earthquake struck Myanmar, shaking not only the ground but also the sense of security for many across Southeast Asia. Though the epicenter was in Myanmar, the tremors reached far — including into Thailand, where I personally felt the impact while in Nakhon Pathom.
My Experience in Nakhon Pathom:
I was in Nakhon Pathom when I felt it. It was faint — just a subtle swaying — but enough to make me stop and question whether the ground had really moved. Moments later, the news confirmed my suspicion: a major earthquake had struck Myanmar.
Returning to My Apartment in Bangkok:
When I returned to my apartment in Bangkok, what I saw made my heart sink — fresh cracks ran across the walls that had once felt so sturdy. That’s when the fear really set in. It suddenly became real. What if it had been worse? What if it happens again?
The Fear That Lingers:
Since then, I’ve struggled to feel completely safe at home. Even now, I’m nervous about sleeping here. Every creak or shift in the building makes me uneasy. And while my experience was minimal compared to the devastation in Myanmar, it has left a mark — emotionally and mentally.
Final Thoughts & A Gentle Reminder:
Natural disasters can strike without warning. This experience reminded me of how fragile life can be and how important it is to be prepared.
Stay alert. Stay prepared. And if you’re safe, consider donating or supporting relief efforts for those most affected in Myanmar.
